If you're like me, you know what you like but you can't find it. Introducing our new custom sewing service. Select a Jon Jon or Jumper (fully lined). Jon Jons come with matching fabric covered buttons, snaps for easy diaper changes and a monogram or applique of your choice. Jumpers come with matching fabric covered buttons and an applique or monogram of your choice.

You provide 1 yard of fabric and 1 yard of lining for the outfit, we do the rest. In 1 week, you have a "hand me down quality" outfit for your little one. Custom Jon Jons or Jumpers: $30 each (you provide the fabric).

I love to put my girls in fun and funky fabrics but sometimes a whole outfit is a little over the top. So I make fun and funky pants and pair it with a plain t-shirt with an applique. Can't sew - talk to me. I'm doing a little custom stuff on the side. You provide the fabric you want, and the t-shirt and I'll put together the pants and the monogrammed applique set for $25. Just need a t-shirt appliqued? $10 for the fabric square and monogram.

New Item for the Summer

This is my favorite gift to give to 2nd time moms who will have their oldest still in diapers. This diaper / wipes sack keeps two or three diapers and a case of wipes handy for the big sister or brother so that mom can take one bag and not have to dig for bigger diapers in the middle of the wal-mart restroom. The Diapee Case is lined with coordinating fabric and includes a monogram (one, two of three letters) in corresponding color along with a snap to hold it all together.

$20 each (includes travel wipes and 2 diapers).

The case folds to be 10" x 8" when snapped.

Tip of the Day... For What It's Worth

Of course, there's nothing more precious that a little outfit with a monogram... but if you are like me and had all your first child's clothes monogrammed, you may find yourself regretting that decision. I've had another girl... another girl with a different monogram. However, appliques are the perfect solution. I made this little outfit for our first and now that her sister can wear it, a well placed applique of an octopus covered it up.

Of course, you can always take a seam ripper and remove the monogram - which, when very carefully done, can easily be covered up with the new. But - a cute applique can turn a one of a kind outfit into something that can be worn again and again - even to be passed down a third time (if that's the case).

Note: This is true too for clothes you find on ebay or on consignment. Don't count it out because it has a monogram on it that doesn't match... let's find an applique in a coordinating fabric. It's cute AND you'll probably get the clothing for an inexpensive price since it's personalized.

Check out our new slider above this post! Appliques are perfect for that summer jon jon or little jumper. Precious on a t-shirt with matching shorts or on a bubble. These appliques really spruce up your little one's wardrobe. Can be put on burp cloths, bibs, onsies, fancy pants. If you don't see what you are looking for, ask me! I didn't upload all of my available appliques AND I know where to get more!

Just remember that each applique will be customized to your specific outfit. These pictures are only samples and in many cases, will look even more precious with a different fabric and thread choice.

I've added two new products to the selection! First, for every hip baby, these monogrammed / appliqued burp cloths. The set includes two burp cloths: one with a simple, yet classic, monogram and the second with the initial applique. Of course, you get to choose the style of monogram! Each set is $20.

Up and Running

Consider Shrimp & Grits up and running! I am working on sample items to put on the blog, but for now, if you want something in particular, I'm sure I can find it! Monograms are easy, we know what fancy pants and burp cloths are but I wanted to let you know what appliques I currently have.

Those which are featured in the slide show are the curly "e" initial, bunny outline and a frog. I also have a plane, sailboat, ice cream cone, whale and all of the curly initials. Those are also super cute on a burp cloth!

If you want to see a sample before I get one done and the picture properly placed on this site, just let me know and I'll send you a pic!
